Dear 5th Grade Parents,
As we enter a season of gifts and giving I would like to make you aware of a cultural reset we are making on timepieces that are allowed in our student uniforms. Please familiarize yourself with the following quotes from our Family Handbook:
Smart watches (including Fitbits), I-pods or other portable music players, pagers, cameras, electronic games, laser pointers, skateboards, roller blades, and other toys that are not part of the academic or extra-curricular program are prohibited on campus. Students may be disciplined for the possession or use of such technology on school grounds, and such items will be confiscated and returned only at the parent's request (93).
No jewelry except a simple analog or digital watch (no smart watches or Fitbits) may be worn. Any watch that is bluetooth capable and/or connects to WIFI or internet is considered a smart watch (106).
Please take these expectations into consideration when purchasing your student a gift for the holidays!
