Classroom Spelling Bee: Thursday, December 12
School Spelling Bee (1st – 6th grade): Tuesday, January 14
We encourage your child or children to study the words in preparation for the spelling bee. Thanksgiving break can be an excellent time to study. This is a great opportunity for each student to improve their spelling and have fun!
The top winners from 1st through 6th grade will participate in the school wide spelling bee for lower school. The school champion qualifies to take the semifinals online test which is a 50 item computer-based spelling and vocabulary test. The online test score will determine whether or not the school champion will advance to the San Antonio Express-News 66th Annual Regional Spelling Bee which takes place on March 21, 2020 from 1pm – 4pm. The winner of the Regional Spelling Bee will compete in the Scripp’s National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.
We invite parents to attend the school wide spelling bee only. The classroom spelling bee will take place during the school day. Ribbons and trophies will be awarded.
